Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital is Norways largest specialist hospital in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The Hospital provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation for patients with complex functional impairment following illness or injury. The Hospital provides services at both regional and national levels.

The Institute of Clinical Medicine (Klinmed) is one of three institutes under the Faculty of Medicine. Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 800 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute. Our activities follow the clinical activity at the hospitals and are spread across a number of geographical areas.

A permanent position as Senior Consultant (physical medicine and rehabilitation) is available at the Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital. The position is affiliated with a part time position as Professor II /Associate Professor (20 % position) in Medicine (physical medicine and rehabilitation) at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO). It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.

Regarding the full-time clinical position at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital:

The clinical position will be located primarily at the section of brain injuries or the section of spinal cord injuries. Thus, the applicants should have clinical experience from rehabilitation medicine of such patients and sufficient experience to teach medical students within this field of medicine. The Professor will take part in the daily activities in the clinic.

Qualification requirements education and relevant personal qualities:

  • Applicant must be a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, clinically active and have a wide experience in the clinical field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Applicant must have a PhD and a broad clinical research experience including experience related to one of the aforementioned sections.
  • Certificate of good conduct
