A permanent full-time position as Senior Consultant is available at Department of Multidisciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry, Akershus University Hospital. The position is affiliated with a part time position as Professor II/Associate Professor (20% position) in Medicine (Medical Biochemistry).
Regarding the full-time clinical position at Akershus University Hospital:
The Department of Multidisciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry is one of the countrys largest laboratories and has a wide repertoire of analyses and methods, with 160 employees and performing 9,9 mill. analyses per year. The department performs analyses within several laboratory disciplines and is organized in a matrix structure where the medical specialists are responsible for analyses within their respective fields. The department is the only laboratory in Norway performing neurological biomarkers for routine diagnostics.
The department is accredited in accordance with ISO/EN 15189.
The department has four positions for senior consultants, two with a Ph.D, two positions for residents specializing in Medical Biochemistry, one of which currently has university affiliation (professor II), and several R&D engineers. The department's research activity is increasing, and currently one of our consultants is enrolled in the Ph.D program at the University of Oslo.
The successful applicant has to be a specialist or a resident specializing within the field of Medical Biochemistry, with clinical and research experience within this medical field, and is expected to contribute to collaborative projects and have high ambitions for future research. The applicant is expected to have broad clinical experience necessary to teach medical students in the field of medical biochemistry.
Educational and scientific qualifications will carry more weight than other qualifications.
The clinical part of this position is to be performed at the Department of Multidisciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry.
The University position is part time (20%), but a collaborative agreement between the Hospital and University secures that a minimum of 40% of the working time will be allotted to academic work.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to create an attractive research environment, plans for research and ambitions relating to the applicant's personal teaching practice will be emphasized. As a rule, interviews will be held and references collected. Applicants may also be required to give a trial lecture.
